Low Carb Burger Skillet

Low Carb Burger Skillet

This recipe is the best if you’re craving a burger without wanting any of the guilt. Packed full of flavor and protein, it’s so easy to make and tastes even better than it looks – especially with my “secret sauce”!!

10-12 oz. ground beef

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (I used a fresh block and grated the cheese myself!)

1 large onion, sliced into ribbons

1 cup romaine lettuce, shredded

1/2 cup tomatoes sliced

1/2 avocado, to top

Seasonings: garlic powder, salt, and pepper

2 tablespoons mayo

1 tablespoon ground mustard

1 tablespoon relish

1 tablespoon ketchup

The recipe:

Begin by preparing your veggies: slice your onions, romaine lettuce, and tomatoes.

In a skillet, sauté your onions with a drizzle of olive oil until they are translucent and tender, approximately 7-8 minutes. Once done, set them aside.

In the same skillet or a separate one, cook your ground beef over medium heat with a little olive oil and your seasonings.

Once the ground beef is cooked through, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over it. Reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet with a lid to allow the cheese to melt for 2-3 minutes.

While the cheese melts, prepare the “secret sauce” by combining mayo, ketchup, relish, and mustard in a small bowl until well combined.

Once the cheese has melted to your liking, add the sautéed onions, chopped romaine lettuce, fresh sliced avocado, and tomatoes to the skillet.

Drizzle your sauce on top, and enjoy! xx
