This is definitely my favorite way to eat a turkey burger! I actually just got this one frozen from Whole Foods, but Trader Joes has great ones, too. Sometimes, frozen turkey burgers can be kind of dry and tasteless, so even adding ketchup and a bun isn’t suffice, and none the less, isn’t that healthy. Here is how I eat mine- to make the perfect lunch!!
You will need:
(just to make one serving)
1 frozen turkey burger (I mean feel free to make your own too!!)
1/4 onion, sliced
Handful of cherry tomatoes, sliced
5 large romaine lettuce pieces (or however many you want!!)
2 tablespoons feta cheese
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon pesto (store bought OR try my homemade pesto recipe here)
Pepper
Garlic salt
What to do:
Grill your turkey burger in a touch of olive oil. As that is cooking, slice your tomatoes and onions and throw them in the same pan. Season with garlic salt and pepper.
Wash your lettuce pieces, and put them on a plate with a little drizzle of olive oil. After the veggies are sauteed and the turkey burger is cooked. Place them on the bed of lettuce.
Top with feta cheese and pesto.
BOOM! Easy, healthy, delicious lunch.
