Viral Date Bark

Viral Date Bark

HEALTHY DESSERT ALERT🚨 I’ve seen the viral “date bark” for months and tbh I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to try it bc dates are a staple in my kitchen!!! + it’s so simple. This can be made with four ingredients- dates, nut butter of choice, pretzels, and dark chocolate. I added a little coconut oil spray to my chocolate, and sea salt to top. I think the best part of the viral date bark is you can really add any other topping you want! Fried fruit, nuts.. graham cracker?! 👀 try it and let me know whatcha thinkkk

NOTE: The recipe requires 1 hour to freeze the chocolate after preparation!

SERVING SIZE: 6-8 squares **NOTE: I used a small baking tray but measurements will vary depending on the size of the tray

10-12 pitted dates

1/2 cup peanut butter

1 cup crushed pretzels

1 cup dark chocolate chips

1/4 teaspoon of avocado oil, to melt chocolate chips

Optional: sea salt flakes, to top

The recipe:

Line your baking sheet with either aluminum foil or parchment paper so your date bark is easier to remove once frozen!

Halve your dates and use your fingers to smash your date halves on your lined baking sheet till it creates a nice even layer. You should have no gaps.

Using a spoon or spatula, spread an even layer of peanut butter on top of the dates.

Crumble your pretzels into small pieces and layer on top of the peanut butter.

Then melt your chocolate in a small bowl with a little bit of avocado oil. I like to microwave the chocolate for 30-45 seconds or until melted. Stir when you remove it from the microwave to help melt all the chocolate thoroughly.

Pour your chocolate over the pretzel layer and spread with a spoon or spatula.

Now, it’s time to freeze! Place your date bark in the freezer for 1 hour to set the chocolate.

When your date bark is frozen, sprinkle with flaky sea salt and enjoy!! xx
