Equipment

  • Slow Cooker or Crockpot

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds chicken breast
  • 1.5 cups broth
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon tumeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper (activates turmeric effects)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 lemons, to juice
  • 4 cloves garlic

Instructions

  • Start by adding your chicken breast to the crockpot, along with your butter, broth, lemon, garlic cloves, turmeric, onion powder, pepper, and salt.
  • Cook on high for 4 hours. Then after the 4 hours, remove from the pot and shred with two forks! It's super tender and easy to shred!
  • Remove approximately 2/3 cup of the remaining liquid (and optional add flour) to thicken to a stew consistency.
  • Add your shredded chicken back to the slow cooker for 30-min to an hour to allow all the yummy juices to marinate the chicken.
  • I paired with a super simple rice + kale for my veggie. For the rice, cook according to directions and the veggies you can literally choose whichever you want and sauté with a simple garlic, salt and pepper combo and it pairs so well with the rich flavors of the chicken!
  • Enjoy!! xx
